I'll give you the same Answer

The bar was mostly silent, and most of the usually bright neon lights set to a more comfortable dim setting. The whole place seemed almost empty, well except for the two bucks at the bar. One sat on a tall cushioned stool, tail thrashing in an agitated manner behind her. The other behind the bar, finishing up some cleaning after what could be assumed to be a busy night. The atmosphere between the two was tense. 

"You know we have to be rational about this Torren" The winged guardian says as he sets the glass down onto a drying drying rack.  

"You don't think I know that?! We already moved so many to the camps, why can't we just move ourselves? You've given so much of yourself to others, why not be a little selfish this one damn time?!" The blazing anger in the leobuck's voice caused the man to let out a tired sigh. 

" I know, and I want to. I want to so damn badly, but what about all those who still are trying to get their freedom?" 

"Then what about you huh?" There's a pause of silence before an almost silent “So?” 

"What about your own damn freedom, you're still owned by that asshole and made to be paraded around like a damn prized attraction for this place?! How the hell can you speak of freedom when you don't even fucking have it?! You said we'd be free together… Are you just going to let that turn around and you end up being a fucking lier?" She punches the top of the counter slightly denting it in the process. 

Aerglo gently sets down his dish rag and takes her hand in his carefully unfurling the fist giving it a gentle kiss. "Love, I'm sorry. I… I plan on running with you, trust me that I am a hundred percent on. I'm just not sure when would be the best time. There's still so much to do…" Lightly massaging her hand, his brow furrows in thought. He was tired. Tired of his damn owner, tired of being treated so poorly by some of the bar's patrons, and just tired of not being able to be happy with his lover. Why not just allow him this one selfish desire? 

Snapping back to reality he stares Torren right into her eyes and gives a confident look. 

"You know what, fuck it! And Fuck this! I'll start getting things ready tomorrow!" The winged man declares, causing his partner to snort out a laugh. 

"I'm serious" He says, pulling her hand up into another kiss. 

"I know, I know, it's just hilarious to hear you swear. Such a raaare occasion, we should celebrate '' She says, eyeing the racks of drinks behind him. 

Letting out a deep laugh, Aerglo lets her hand go. 

"You just want to try the new shipment that came in today, don't you?" 

"No comment" She laughs out a smirk on her lips. 

Reaching under the bar into the well, Aerglo pulls out a bottle and hands it over to his partner. "Can't get into the expensive stuff, but this should be good for now, don't want a repeat of when you” She lightly punches his arm “sorry, ‘we’ accidentally broke all those imports." Just thinking of that memory made him wince. Setting the bottle down he then goes to get back to work. 

"Hey! You said you'd never mention that ever again!" She pouts. Leaning over the bar and snagging two small glasses she sets up the drinks up as Aerglo finishes his cleaning. 

"You know I really am serious right?" He says as he moves from behind the bar and takes a seat next to Torren, one large wing moving to drape over her shoulders. 

" I do." She states, fiddling with her drink. 

"Good, but I'll ask you this. The very same question you asked me all that time ago, will you go on the run with me?" He says after he takes a sip of his drink. 

"You're such a nerd you know that? And I'll give the same answer you gave me, yeah I think I will"
