[Chr24] Avalanche! Watch Out!
Yvena took the lead, her Polar Bavee not far behind her as she began the journey up the mountain. It was white as far as the eyes could see, only broken up by some faint blue peeking out from behind the clouds in the sky. Snow had begun to fall, small drops of softened ice grasping onto their fur. The group could see streaks in the snow from where more snow had given in and fell. Really, it was an odd thing to see. Klasp gave a shiver as she wondered if she should just run, the energy would warm her up, but she would also be using her energy up and the group didn't know how long it would take to go up or come down from the mountain. She looked up toward the peak, it still felt like a million miles away. She let out a sigh before shaking the snow from her fur and looking back to see Maki and Maisiel, their Glacial Twiwa flying around overhead.
"Remind me what we're doing here again?" Klasp called out toward Yvena. It didn't take long for a response, "Looking for treasure!" Yvena kept on forward.
Klasp hesitated. Of course. Treasure. Why else?
"We shouldn't be shouting out here! I heard this mountain hasn't been known for being kind to visitors." Maisiel warned them, but her words fell on deaf ears. They had walked up plenty of mountains! There was nothing too different from this one. Still, they all marched forward. It must have been at least an hour of walking when there was a soft rumble. Birds began to cry out as a whole flock of them quickly flew away from the mountain.
"That... doesn't seem good."
They all looked around, and remained still, waiting to see what was in store for them. After a moment passed Yvena went to take another step before the ground beneath them began to tremble.
"An Avalanche?!" Yvena shouted, panic setting in. "That's not gonna make it better!" Maisiel began to look around, they all began to look around. They didn't know what to do, much less this far up the mountain.
"Just run!" Klasp finally barked before she motioned for the group to begin to run. The rest of them soon followed. How far did they have to run to get to a safe spot? Was the snow already falling? What caused such an avalanche seemingly out of nowhere? The questions kept coming as they kept running. Snow began to tumble towards them, the danger was right on their tails. They didn't dare look back, they just kept running. Exhaustion was beginning to set in. There was no way they could make it to the bottom of the mountain in the state they were in. But they kept running until Maki couldn't anymore. Maisiel was quick to stop and jump to his side before Klasp and Yvena looked back.
"We don't have time!" Klasp's voice shook as the snow didn't seem to have an end. "We need to figure something else out!" Yvena argued, she knew they couldn't keep running forever. Maki pushed himself back up "Come on, we can't stop now." He said "But-" Maisiel went to argue, but she also knew he was right. She just didn't want him to hurt himself. They got back on track and picked back up. The snow finally hit them, causing them to stumble. Each of them struggled before trying to find the way up. Thankfully, they didn't get so buried and were able to hit the surface. Yvena was the first one up and panicked as she went to look for the others. She was able to sniff out Klasp first and went to grab her, helping her up. Maisiel and Maki were able to break through the snow and shook as the snow had stuck to their fur. Klasp shook herself off as well and looked over at the others. They all couldn't help but be relieved that they were all okay, and all so lucky as to have made it towards the edge of the avalanche.
I have no idea what snow or avalanche acts like lmao
