Ice caves

Everyone ok?” - Kimura's voice echoed in everyone's heads, wanting to make sure no one's hurt or in danger. His vision was blurred by the fall and he could barely see something in front of him. A sudden pain ran through his body, caused by some deep scratches. Fragments out of ice and colored red from the blood they were soaked in stuck in his wounds. With a more clear vision he looked around. Hisashi was next to him, breathing heavily and exhausted. “You're fine?” Kimura asked and his son looked at him. His eyes were screaming in pain even if he was silent and didn't say a word. Kimura followed them and saw Hisashi's leg. It was badly hurt and blood dripped on the ground. “Can you walk?” - “I hope so”, - his voice sounded tormented, quiet and tired. He must suffer and Kimura wanted to help him but first he needed to check if the other two were fine as well. With a look at Masamune he noticed something under him, a giant feather. He never saw something like this but he was sure it was the feather of a Twiwa. However they weren't that huge. “Masamune”, - hearing Kimura's voice again the boy opened his eyes and looked a bit dizzy in the direction it came from. Luckily he didn't seem to be hurt but his limbs were hurting nevertheless and even if the feather cushioned his fall slightly. “Are you two hurt?” Masamune asked and Kimura looked at his son, making sure he's still awake. “Hisashi needs help. We have to get out of here”, - the boy nodded and looked at Lexas who was lying on the cold icy ground. “Hey dumbass, wake up”! - not even a little movement, nothing. His breathing was slow but he didn't seem hurt in any way. Could it be that the fall made him faint? “Lexas?” Kimura shouted and he stopped immediately when he saw the massive scratches inside the iced wall behind him. Shiver ran down his back and he just stared at the ice wall. “Hey! Asshole!” Masamune growled and got up slowly. He walked over and looked at the young boy. “Is the little one fine?” Hisashi asked quietly and Kimura's eyes switched to Lexas. “Lexas?” - Masamune's voice turned worried but in the next moment he heard a familiar growling. “Shut up already”, - his comrade opened his eyes and looked annoyed at the amazed Masamune. “Bloody hell, can't you let me sleep?” Lexas said angry and sat up. “How are you?” Kimura asked and he crossed his arms. “The feathers and scratches are strange. I guess it's the nest of a Twiwa but the feathers are way too big”, - his leader nodded and was wondering about him being fully unharmed. “Let's forget the golden Polar Bavee and get out of here”, - “I'm with you Masamune but we need to slow down as I have to support Hisashi”, - suddenly a high shriek let their faces turn pale and Kimura got up quickly, ready to support Hisashi and bring him out of this cave as fast as possible. “Hurry up”, he ordered and the rest of the group got up, waiting for Kimura and Hisashi. “This is gonna be embarrassing”, Hisashi whispered and a little smile appeared on his lips while his father helped him. Behind an icy rock was a little baby Polar Bavee, shivering in fear and peeking out carefully. It was watching them but seemed to be too afraid to move. “Can we take it with us?” Hisashi asked and looked at the little one. Kimura followed his eyes and saw the parentless baby. Blood covered some parts of its fur. It was definitely hurt but not badly. Maybe its parents were killed by the beast living in this cave. Carefully Kimura picked it up and put it on his shoulder, making sure it would not fall down. “Stay and I'll find an owner for you”, - “Maybe we can keep it”, - “We will not keep it”, Kimura said coldly and looked annoyed at his son. The little Polar Bavee snuggled itself against his neck and closed his eyes, knowing it would be safe. Even if he said he didn't want the little one to stay with them it warmed up his heart and let him think of maybe keeping it as a pet. “Now, let's get out of here”, - everyone nodded and while Kimura was busy helping Hisashi, Masamune and Lexas went ahead, unsure if the beast was following them. After a while of walking through the endless ice the boys heard another shriek. This time it was definitely closer. The baby Polar Bavee was shivering again, snuggling itself more against Kimura with its fluffy fur. “Stay alert”, - Masamune and Lexas nodded in agreement. They were often arguing but in this situation they had to work together to make it out of this dangerous situation. Snow fell from the ceiling of the cave and some icicles looking like spears blocked their way. Luckily there was another one so they could continue their journey through the cold cave. The sound of big and heavy wings appeared behind them and the boys turned around instantly where they saw what was following them. The giant Twiwa looked at them with sharp eyes and came closer slowly. It was flapping with its wings, stirring up some snow from the ground and prepared itself for an attempt to attack them. “This thing looks definitely not friendly”, Masamune said worriedly. “Let's fight”, - “Don't you dare to fight against it, idiot!” - Kimura looked at Lexas with the same eyes the Twiwa was looking at them. His voice let some snow fall from above and Lexas felt a cold he never felt before. Bored, he sighed and crossed his arms looking at their feathering opponent. “We have to escape”, Hisashi said and looked at his father who nodded understandingly. “Its weak point is its advantage”, - “Its height”, - “Exactly”, - Kimura was surprised about Masamune and Lexas working together for the first time but this was the true reason he trusted Lexas. The analytical skills of this boy were absolutely incredible. However, he was often reckless and searching for trouble so he needed someone like Masamune who could think in such tense situations. “I saw a small entrance over there. We should fit through but our big friend here does not”, - Masamune said and Lexas nodded in agreement, preparing himself to run. Meanwhile the Twiwa was near, its claws made some carvings in the ice which caused an awful noise. Lexas started a countdown and as soon as it hit 0 they were running into the small entrance, escaping the giant Twiwa who shrieked enraged. It tried to reach the with its peak but the boys were already deep in and were breathing exhausted. For this time they managed to escape but who knows if this will happen next time.
