[Gift] Hound House Holiday Hunt
Trija panted as her paws thundered in the slushy snow beneath her, dodging through trees and weaving beneath bushes as she sprinted through the patches of melting snow and yellowing grass. Finally, she broke through the treeline, and in front of her ran her packmates, chasing after a large elk. Lowering her head and forcing her muscles forward, she worked to meet them on the path they were on now, running alongside them further up the hill.
"Cut him off, Talis!" She called, sliding on the snow and nearly falling.
Clyde, a pigmy arctic fox sneki that Talis had adopted about a year before, leapt from her scruff as she stumbled, slithering through the snow and bursting out at the hooves of their prey, quickly clawing his way up its arm and shoulder, before wrapping around its neck to gnaw on its ear and scratch at its eye.
Talis reached in to snap at its hooves, and let out a yelp mixed with an angered growl as she was kicked away, shaking the feeling from her face as she ran alongside the beast.
Seraphine, seeing the kick land on her new packmate, growled and narrowed her eyes. Thundering forward even faster before launching herself off the slushy ground.
The large buck landed squarely on the elks rear, and wasted no time sinking her teeth into its hindquarters.
"Hell yea, Seraph!" Talis barked joyfully, her tail wagging.
Calico snapped, calling focus back to the elk with a yap.
"Grab its throat, Talis!" The brute howled, feeling his stamina behin to run low.
Nodding, the albino canine launched forward, sinking her teeth into the throat of the elk.
As it stopped to rear up at her, Calico was able to land his jaws on its front hoof, stopping it from kicking Talis off again.
Trija soon joined her packmate at the throat of the beast, and it quickly fell still in front of them.
Panting, Talis stood up and grinned with bloody fangs.
"That was great! I dont think it would have slowed if you hadn't jumped on it like that!"
Seraph pinned her ears and smiled, sitting down to catch her breath.
"It was the first thing I thought of." She admitted.
Calico chuckled, and laid down in the snow himself to cool off.
"It was brilliant! This will feed us for quite a while, and it will be the perfect dinner for the Solstice." He said gratefully.
Clyde chittered as he slithered around Trija's neck again, and she used a claw to grab a piece of meat, and held it between her fingers for him to eat.
"I think it will be nice to have another pack member at the table, Seraph. You will love Calico's cooking."
